Information requirements for competitions
The company Dethleffs GmbH & Co. KG is based in Germany and is the Data Controller within the meaning of the GDPR. The data you send us will be stored in our customer database in Germany.
Purpose and legal basis for the processing of your personal data
Our collection and processing of personal data is based on the provisions of the GDPR. Participation in the competition is based on the Conditions of Participation (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). Participation in the competition is free. You will not be disadvantaged by not participating. To participate, you must provide your name and e-mail address. The personal data you send us will be collected, processed and used for the purpose of administering the competition in accordance with the Conditions of Participation. The winners will be contacted by e-mail. You have the option to withdraw from the competition at any time with lasting effect. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Please note that if you unsubscribe from the newsletter, further participation in the competition will not be possible.
Data transmission within the Group
Your data may be shared within the Group for administrative purposes. However, if your data is shared within the Group, this will only happen for the purpose of administering the competition or on the basis of your consent. We may also have an interest in sharing this data for internal, administrative purposes. Should the processing of your data take place outside Europe, the data will be transferred in compliance with all applicable data protection laws.
Data transfer to other recipients
Your data will not be transferred to other recipients. However, if a transfer to additional recipients is necessary, this will only occur to the extent necessary for the processing of the competition. To this end, we use service providers who assist us with the implementation of the competition. They will act only on our instructions and process the data only for the specified purpose. Any use beyond this shall not take place and shall require legal authorisation or consent.
Data transfer to a third country or international organisation
Your data will not be transferred to a third country or to an international organisation. However, if such transfers are planned, they will only occur if appropriate safeguards exist within the meaning of Art. 44 et seq. GDPR.

Storage duration
After the completion of the competition or following the withdrawal of your consent, your data will be deleted, unless it is subject to statutory retention periods. The winners’ data will be stored to facilitate the distribution of prizes. Depending on the type of competition, certain legal storage requirements may apply due to subsequent activities (e.g. vehicle usage and related user contracts/assignments). The winners’ data will be deleted after three years.
Your rights
You have the right to receive information about your stored personal data free of charge at any time, as well as the right to its correction, to data portability and to the deletion of this data. Where the deletion conflicts with statutory retention periods, we will have said deletion blocked. You are also entitled to object to the processing of this data or to demand that we restrict its processing. You also have the right to appeal to a supervisory authority.
If the data processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw this consent with lasting effect at any time.
